![]() ![]() As the last episode to be shot on 35mm film, TPM actually looks pretty damn good. And as a precursor for conversions to come in later installments, well, in the immortal words of Han Solo, "I have a bad feeling about this." That said, the movie still holds up after almost 13 years. But from what we'd been hearing, it really should have been better. Like I said, it's decent, relatively sharp - the mere fact that it's "Star Wars in 3D" is enough for many fans to get at least a tiny bit excited. ![]() It's certainly not the worst, but overall the image still feels mostly flat and, as with most 3D movies, darker than one would hope for. Unfortunately, this aspect is not as masterfully executed as the boys over at Lucasfilm would have you believe. And I regret to report that this is where TPM doesn't really make the cut. However, this review isn't so much here to critique the film as it is to analyze its newly added 3D conversion. ![]()
